01. Do you carry out background checks on your care workers?
Yes, RSD carry out a thorough and consistent background check on all of our staff, whether you are an administration staff member of RSD Healthcare or a support worker.
02. What types of checks do you carry out on the agency staff?
Due to safeguarding, as part of our recruitment process we require applicants to provide a character reference and a previous/current employer reference. RSD Healthcare ensure that the references are no longer than year old from application date. RSD Healthcare also offer internal enhanced DBS to ensure checks show spent and unspent convictions and cautions. They may also show, if requested, inclusions on the children's and/or adults' barred lists.
03. What type of qualifications do your caregivers have and do they receive regular training?
It is essential that caregivers are equipped with the right knowledge and skills to work and practice within the care sector. RSD Healthcare also provide Mandatory training for employees, this is compulsory training that an organisation deems to be essential to deliver services safely and effectively. Mandatory training has to be undertaken every year to ensure care givers are up to date with new laws and legislations that are implemented or amended.
04. Do you require your care workers to have experience?
At RSD Healthcare, the majority of our agency workers boast prior experience in care settings and hold additional qualifications such as Level 2 and 3 Health and Social Care or a Care Certificate, in addition to completing mandatory training.
